A LITTLE ABOUT US
Langar is a term used throughout South Asia meaning “community kitchen", where a free meal is served to all—without any distinction of gender, economic status, ethnicity, or religion.
Langar Lunch is a grassroots effort established in 2019 serving the greater District of Columbia. We are driven by a single goal; to do our part in making the world a better place. Our mission is simple: with respect and dignity, shine light on the hunger and homeless epidemic plaguing our Nation’s Capital. According to a recent survey, there are approximately 7,000 members of the homeless community residing in Washington, DC.
Through generous donations like yours, Langar Lunch provides nutritious food and friendship on a monthly basis to the underserved and homeless in DC. We believe through small acts of kindness and service, we can uplift those often marginalized and neglected by society. We welcome you to the Langar Lunch family. Together, we hope to help create a brighter future—one lunch at a time.

At Langar Lunch, we are dedicated to addressing the hunger and homeless community in the District. Food donation and distribution is by no means an easy feat, but through cooperation and community empowerment we believe we can facilitate progress in this area.
